Hawks host Clippers down south

Basketball Betting Lines

02/07/2009 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Atlanta Hawks will try for their third straight win when they open a quick two-game homestand Saturday versus the Los Angeles Clippers at Philips Arena.

The Hawks will also host the Washington Wizards and are 18-5 at home this season. They just completed a three-game road trip with a 2-1 mark and recorded their second straight win with Friday's 102-97 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats.

Marvin Williams recorded a season-high 29 points to lead Atlanta, which played without guard Joe Johnson for the second straight game because of the flu. Johnson is questionable versus the Clips.

Maurice Evans ended with 17 points, while Mike Bibby added 15 in the win.

Los Angeles ended a seven-game slide last night with a 126-105 rout of the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum. Zach Randolph scored 35 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Clippers, who are 1-4 on a seven-game road trip and 6-19 as the visitor this season.

Ricky Davis contributed 24 points and Eric Gordon added 23 for LA. The Clippers will also visit the Bobcats on their current road swing.

Atlanta defeated Los Angeles, 97-80, on January 14 this season at Staples Center and has won two straight and four of the past five meetings. The Clippers have dropped two in a row and 10 of their previous 13 trips to Philips Arena.
